July 2025 Reflections
Another year draws to a close.
My business year is the same as the academic year. It’s not just force of habit.
I was no longer running a school on September 1st 2018 so I started my business.
The truth is that while I will be taking some time out this summer, the work will continue in August when I come back. The planning, sorting out, refocusing, updating and the clearing out.
That proactive stuff really matters. It’s what makes a new business year feel new and not just more of the same.
I will also be recording the audiobook version of The Snowflake Myth having signed off the proof this week. All those people who requested the free chapter when available will finally be getting it, including many of you.

Remember that
● Leaders need to model renewal. When you have a new email signature, a reorganised bookcase, new clothes and (most importantly) a fresh set of ideas you inspire others.
● Every leader needs to look back down the mountain they have climbed, then check your calendar or sent emails from three years ago. You will be surprised at what you have moved on from. Those little reminders matter.
