Leadership Coaching
Empowering senior leaders and CEOs through one to one coaching programmes
Are you a senior leader or CEO (or looking to be either)?
Do you need bespoke support for your leadership development?
Leadership roles are unbelievably tough.
Every hour of your long working day is frantic beyond reason, then there's the evenings, weekends and lost sleep on top.
Work-life balance is nothing but a faraway dream.
Yet others assume you don't really have a problem as you are paid more and get to tell others what to do in your so-called cushy job.
Your high levels of workload, stress and anxiety don't count.
I am a qualified, accredited and experienced leadership coach, passionate about empowering others to thrive in their working lives. I support leaders from the public, private and voluntary sectors to achieve beyond their wildest expectations and work together with seismic impact.

Why I coach
Coaching programmes
From Middle to Senior
For middle leaders who want career coaching so they stand out when the opportunity arises. They may to improve their self-awareness, overcome a sense of ‘imposter syndrome' or other concerns, including the impact on existing relationships and work-life balance.
Next Stop is the Top
For senior leaders who know they have the ability to do the top job but need to be ready for that final step. They want to understand the breadth of their responsibilities and how to approach the role so they are successful from the start.
From Frantic to Fulfilled
For leaders in the public sector who are swamped by the demands of their role. They need to work through significant challenges with someone who understands the pressures and complexities of the role.
“Coaching with Alex has been a transformative experience. Alex's coaching style provided me with a safe space to explore my challenges post my maternity leave.
Not only do I feel that I've gained the necessary leadership skills and strategies to address any challenges that I was facing, I also felt that I really regained my confidence, my motivation, my passion for what I'm doing.
The coaching I had with Alex laid a really strong foundation for my growth. It's put me in a place where I feel really confident and excited for what the future holds.”
Elena Shaban - Recruitment Director

“Before my executive coaching programme, I sometimes found things overwhelming. I feel like it was lonely. There were many times when I felt like I was masking the problem.
I always leave sessions with the feeling like ‘yes, I've got this' I know what I'm going to do. I've never had a problem with being open in those sessions and admitting the things that I wouldn't admit to anyone else.
Making time for the coaching cuts down a lot of the procrastination and also a lot of the wasted time that you spend, not knowing which way to turn. And if you commit to the sessions and you really engage with it, it will be massively beneficial.”
Patsy Cuncarr - CEO
“I moved from the corporate world to setting up a small business.
There was a lot of doubt in my mind. Alex helped me structure my thoughts and I now have more clarity in my thinking. He took me out of my comfort zone.
When I first had contact with Alex I hadn't even started my business. There was nothing tangible and I'm now a small business owner.
I've got clients. I'm doing basic things that I thought I wouldn't be able to do.”
Guner Husseyin - from the City to business owner
I worked with Alex during a time of very high pressure. I had been coached in previous leadership roles and so (I admit!) approached doing the sessions with a sense of trepidation.
Alex's work meant I felt really well understood and confident he would adapt to my preferred way of working. At the same time, I wasn't allowed to hoodwink or rest on my laurels.
The session very soon became the most productive of my working life. I left every session with a shorter "to do" list because of a sharper focus on what would be most impactful and also for what would bring me joy and enliven my engagement and feeling of success in my work.
Amelia Aiken - Senior Leader
My coaching programme with Alex has had a real impact. I now operate in a very different way.
I feel like I really belong around the top table. I challenge colleagues more often and am enabled to act. I’ve gained a lot and Alex’s support in this has been both instrumental and invaluable.
Richard Shone - Director (health & social care charity)
Working with Alex has been a genuinely transformative experience. He enabled me to step outside of my comfort zone and reflect deeply on my leadership style.
What set Alex apart was his ability to connect professional goals with personal insight — he helped me see patterns in my behaviour, challenge unhelpful defaults, and move towards a more purposeful, proactive approach to leadership.
I can't recommend Alex highly enough. His calm, insightful, and practical approach has had a lasting impact on both my career and personal development.
Chris Wilson-Boyle - Deputy Head
“I cannot recommend Alex's leadership coaching services enough. His encouraging yet challenging style enabled me to identify specific targets to work on and how I could complete them. Alex has a wealth of leadership knowledge and was able to signpost when needed. Since the coaching programme I feel far more confident to develop in my career and have the necessary tools to progress further.”
Rhiannon Mapleston - Senior Leader
Philosophy, Purpose and Process
Here is a little more detail on the thinking behind my coaching practice.
Philosophy
I believe that
human beings are capable of profound wisdom if given the right conditions to discover it.
individuals have a huge capacity for learning, and this is often lost in the day to day.
professional development has a transformative effect on confidence, outcomes and life chances.
senior leaders do important jobs that society needs to be done well. They need to be underpinned by strong work-life balance, not assume it must be abandoned.
ethics and morals really matter. They support performance at work rather than conflict. The road less travelled is most often the most valuable.
Purpose
Senior leadership roles
are incredibly challenging and complex, and made much harder if those who do them cannot have the neutral conversations they need.
represent choices. Many who could do them very well do not apply because they feel it is ‘not for them’. Yet with support they can get there.
are often done by people who are completely swamped. There is another way.
require confident leaders who can make confident decisions. Even small shifts can make a significant difference and create genuine momentum.
Process
My leadership coaching programmes are
highly bespoke to each client’s circumstances and what they really want to achieve.
a partnership; we think and work together, but the programme belongs to the client, as it is their career and their choices.
authentic and practical. We focus on the issues and never lose sight of long-term aims.
as challenging as the client needs them to be. Some need a space to think so they can push themselves.
the result of years of experience. I have many tools and approaches, but to the client it is always a powerful and natural conversation.
I’m accredited by the EMCC as a Senior Practitioner and therefore subscribe to its Code of Ethics.
